Student Counselling and Psychological Counselling at the UdK Berlin

Prospective students, applicants and students can turn to the staff of the Student Counselling Service with all their questions and problems concerning studies and applications.

In addition, the UdK Berlin offers psychological counselling for students since 1 October 2021.

Course Guidance

UdK students can also contact the subject advisory service for their degree programme, e.g. for questions about study organisation and timetabling.

Infocafé

For students of the Faculty of Fine Arts, in particular of the teacher training programmes, student tutors are available in the Info-Café to answer questions about studying - e.g. questions about the organisation of studies and timetables.

International Student Services

This service is primarily aimed at international students.

You can contact the International Student Service of the UdK Berlin for all questions regarding visas, residence status, study financing, etc. as well as for questions regarding DAAD scholarships.

Barriere-free Studies

To ensure the participation of students with impairments, there is a representative for students with disabilities and chronic illnesses at the UdK Berlin. You can find more information and contact details here.

AStA

The AStA is the general student committee. Its task is to represent the interests of students vis-à-vis the university management and administration as well as the committees and faculties.

The AStA of the UdK Berlin has a social fund from which students in difficult financial situations can be supported. This fund is primarily aimed at international students with limited work permits and single-parent students. The AStA also provides support with questions about scholarships and can name contact points for questions about Bafög.

The social counselling centre of the studierendenWERK BERLIN offers advice on these and other topics.

The Psychological-Psychotherapeutic Counselling Centre of the studierendenWERK BERLIN (PBS) is aimed at all students at Berlin universities .
It offers support in difficult situations or phases of life. Regardless of whether the problems are directly related to studying (e.g. fear of exams, agonisingly putting off homework, initial doubts about studying and thoughts of dropping out) or are completely unrelated to university life.

They offer individual counselling as well as couples counselling and various groups.

Writing Centre of the studierendenWERKes BERLIN

The Writing Center of the studierendenWERK BERLIN helps students of Berlin universities with their academic writing.
The service is aimed at students of all subjects in Bachelor, Master or Teaching Qualification programmes at Berlin universities. A team of trained writing advisors provide personal consultations on academic writing, as well as workshops and group sessions.
