In the studio “Porous Architecture – Becoming Soil” we delve into the interactions between the human, the non-human and their habitats questing to broaden our understanding of the multifaceted perspectives on the ground, the soil and the earth.

For a week, participants are invited to reside in ExSA - former prison and monastery in Bergamo, Italy - to conceive ways to actively occupy this urban common through design.

In the design project "designing for the more than human" we look at the floating University as a case study. We aim at designing support structures for other ways of being together on a damaged planet.

The earthquake in Turkey and Syria emphasizes the critical need for an action plan for cities in crises: all parties included. This semester we will address the challenges the cities face before, during and after disasters.
