Protocol
Architecture in context – as an independent student magazine – is initiated by students of the study programme Architecture at Berlin University of the Arts. We are looking forward to seeing how contributions from a range of disciplines lend shape to this context. The call for contributions will prescribe a theme for each issue, which anyone interested can treat and interpret freely with reference to questions relevant to architecture.
Architecture in context – inside the UdK and beyond, we see an opportunity in dialogue with other branches of knowledge and artistic positions. Protocol will create a platform for independent approaches, which unfold broader perspectives without dogmatism and through free association, applying lateral thinking or experiment. It will bring together ways of looking at things as well as methods and so make them available to a wider audience. The other way around, part of this exchange will be publication of selected works and findings from the study programme Architecture at the UdK, presenting them to a critical audience outside the university context.
The foundation stone for the project has been laid, and Protocol now awaits development: we are looking to fill its coming issues with innovative content from many contributors.
