About
Wearable Computing
We design and examine wearable technology, with a focus on electronic textiles as material practice and tool for artistic expression. We believe that textile crafts and the technical, social, and cultural knowledge we can draw from them, can inspire new and meaningful narratives for wearing soft technologies.
Our work engages through research, artistic projects, and teaching. Get in touch if want to learn more or collaborate with us - we would love to hear from you!
The Wearable Computing Group is part of the College of Architecture, Media and Design at Berlin University of the Arts, and the Einstein Center Digital Future. We are based at the Berlin Open Lab.
The group was founded by Berit Greinke commencing with her junior professorship grant in 2019. We have since collaborated with artists and researchers in textiles, fashion, music, composition, performance, and interaction design.
