Barbro Scholz

Design researcher Barbro Scholz deals with experiential qualities of tangible (textiles) and intangible (light) materials, and how their interplay invites for novel forms of performativity through the lense of more-than-human entanglements and in the scope of soft technology and XR.

She has a background in industrial, interaction and textile design. She has co-found Stühmer|Scholz Design Office (2012) in Hamburg. She researches speculation in design ("Speculative Space") and materiality in virtual spaces ("Klima-ACT"), and is doctoral candidate in the PhDArts program (Leiden University & KABK in the Hague). Her work has been exhibited (a.o.) at the Pailliards centre d’arts 2016 (FR), Barrick Museum of Art Nevada, LV 2022 (US), Design Center Hamburg 2022 (DE).
