Angie Hiesl
After growing up in Venezuela, Perú and Germany ANGIE HIESL has been living in Cologne since 1975. Since the 80s she works as a director, choreographer, performance and installation artist. Since 1997 she works together with the director, choreographer, performance and visual artist Roland Kaiser. In Germany she was a pioneer for exclusively site specific dance and theatre projects. Her sculptural and performative interventions temporarily transform urban locations into art spaces. Hiesls and Kaisers aesthetic forms of expression are sensual provocations and an invitation to the public and passers by to take a new look at familiar (or so we believe) surroundings. The multi award winning works have been shown around the world. Angie Hiesl shares her artistic working practices at academies and universities around the world.
