GEORGETTE DEE has been performing as a singer and actress on stage since 1981. After her first baby steps in the Hamburg and Berlin off scenes, in 1982 she encountered the former Theater am Turm in Frankfurt and soon advanced to the enfant terrible of chanson. Since then she has undertaken innumerable tours, which lead her from the smallest stages to the Burgtheater Vienna or the Odéon in Paris. She writes many of her song texts herself and is a furious, wonderful story teller. The newspaper Die Zeit once called her “the greatest living diseuse in Germany”, and Pina Bausch said of Georgette: “I look.... and then there stands only a person (on the stage)”.
