Profile
Music Therapy has been firmly established at the Berlin University of the Arts for more than 30 years. Since the winter semester 2007/2008, the study of Music Therapy has been offered in the form of a postgraduate part-time master's degree, in which clinical experience, artistic practice and scientific reflection are closely linked.
The teaching of psychodynamic and developmental psychological concepts and the well-founded therapy-related music education are supplemented and accompanied by supervision and study-related internships. The six-semester course of study is modular in structure. It begins each winter semester.
The master programme Music Therapy is aimed at graduates of music, psychology, education, social sciences and medicine who wish to expand their professional radius through music therapy skills. Upon successful completion of the course of studies, the academic degree "Master of Arts" is awarded, which opens up access to a wide range of clinical, rehabilitative, special- and social educational fields of practice.
