Dr. Stas Sharifullin (ul/unıñ) aka HMOT is a Bashkir/Russian, Siberian-born researcher, musician and artist working with contexts of the sonic. Unıñ current practice resides within the domains of action-based sonic ethnography (‘action-as-research’) and critical sound studies, addressing the variation of inequality production across non-western imperialisms and unbalanced power dynamics carried out under neoliberal policies. Stas is a Doktorierende at the University of Basel and an associate researcher at the Critical Media Lab, Institute for Experimental Design FHNW.
