The third and final birthday concert features true masters of their craft:
The internationally acclaimed cellist and UdK professor Jens Peter Maintz will present Ligeti's solo sonata for cello, the Berlin Piano Trio around Nikolaus Resa, renowned and award-winning chamber pianist,Krzysztof Polonek - concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra - and Katarzyna Polonek, award-winning cellist and professor at the Academy of Music in Poznań, will play Reger's Piano Trio op. 102, and the young wind quintet JuVentus Berlin, consisting of students from the UdK Berlin, will perform Ligeti's 6 Bagatelles. Also on this evening, several songs from Rachmaninov's pen will be heard again: Russian soprano Lada Shornik will perform songs from the op. 38 cycle. As an inter-university project, Ligeti's Horn Trio is also on the program, interpreted by students from the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music and the UdK Berlin.
