Chamber concert with the Paul-Hindemith-Society – crescendo

Matthias Heyde

Maria Ivogün, Herbert von Karajan and Hans Scharoun paved the way for the work of the Paul Hindemith Society, which has been supporting students at the Faculty of Music since the 1960s. Its namesake taught at one of the university's predecessor institutions, the Staatliche Akademische Hochschule für Musik, before he was forced to leave in 1938. It is still thanks to this Friends’ Association that students are supported with scholarships and grants.

The concerts with scholarship holders of the association, as you can experience on this evening, are an essential part of the support. You can look forward to a concert with selected chamber music and highly talented young students.

Mark Glentworth: Blues for Gilbert
Claude Debussy: String quartet g minor op. 10
Ernest Chausson: Poème op. 25
Clara Schumann: Variations over a Theme by Robert Schumann op. 20

Hanna-Rosa Emilsson, Violin
Akane Yoshida, Piano
Chiehyun Fan, Vibraphone
Monadis Quartett: Takashi Lorenz Waschkau, Ferdinand Eppendorf, Violin / Eric Hasenclever, Viola / Jakob Seel, Violoncello

Support us!

The Berlin Senate has imposed enormous savings targets on public universities. You know that: An excellent musical education consists not only of the many hours of solitary practising and lessons by professors, but also, to a large extent, of performing in front of an audience. This inherent part of the training is also the opportunity for you to attend almost always free concerts at a high level. We don't want to have to cut back on this. By attending our events, you can also show those responsible in politics that music and art are meaningful for every society. And if you can: support us with small or large donations. The donations are used for teaching, tuning, transport, advertising material, for our music festival crescendo - wherever no funds can be spent at the moment. This directly benefits our students and also you as the audience, as this is the only way we can maintain events of this calibre and variety.

You can donate here.

Thank you very much!
