Vita

The violist, who comes from a family of musicians, was born in Solingen in 2004 and grew up in the north of Berlin from the age of four. From this time onwards, Antonia received violin lessons from Yoko Hoshino. In April 2014, she transferred to the violin class of Prof. Johannes Kittel (Hanns Eisler University of Music) and from the 2014/2015 winter semester, she attended the Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Music High School, where Prof. Kittel also taught her until the 2023 winter semester. Since the 2018/2019 winter semester, Antonia has also been taking viola lessons with Marion Leleu (Berlin University of the Arts) in addition to the violin. What was originally intended as an orchestral substitute soon became a second main subject. She won first prize in the national Jugend Musiziert competition with both instruments. Antonia gained experience as a soloist at an early age and made her debut at the age of ten with the Cologne Chamber Orchestra in Altenberg Cathedral, where she continues to perform regularly as a soloist. She has also performed
several times with the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt (Oder).
She attended viola masterclasses with Prof. Nobuko Imai, Prof. Hariolf Schlichtig, Benjamin Rivinius (Deutsche Radio Philharmonie) and took part in the Kronberg Academy International Chamber Music Course in October 2021, where she was taught by Timothy
Ridout. Since summer 2019 she has been playing, in addition to several chamber music and orchestral projects, in a permanent string trio (Amida Trio) and has given several concerts within the ensemble with oboist Albrecht Mayer. In spring 2023, Antonia began her viola studies at the HfM Detmold with Prof. Diemut Poppen for the summer semester and has been part of Prof. Veit Hertenstein's viola class (HfM Detmold) since April 2024.
Antonia plays a viola made by Falk Johannes Peters from Aachen.
