Visiting Prof. Benjamin Maus

Benjamin Maus was born in 1984 in Geislingen an der Steige and lives today in Berlin. In 2007, he began his studies in Communication Design at the HfG Schwäbisch Gmünd, before studying Visual Communication at the Berlin University of the Arts under Prof. Joachim Sauter from 2008 to 2011. In 2009, he conducted research in robotics, optics, and perception at the Ishikawa-Komuro Laboratory of the University of Tokyo. Additionally, he deepened his knowledge in electronics, mechanical engineering, and programming through self-study.

After completing his studies, he co-founded and became the technical director of “FELD – Studio For Digital Crafts.” Since 2007, he has been running “allesblinkt,” an office for art and invention, working on the design and conception of technical and complex artworks in collaboration with international artists. In his artistic work, he deals with various industrial modes of production and their impact on society. His works have been exhibited, recognized, and awarded internationally.

He has taught at various universities, including HTW Dresden and the University of the Arts Bremen. In 2017, he took on a visiting professorship at HSD Düsseldorf for students of Design, Applied Arts, and Design.
