Prof. Christian Beuse

The bassoonist Christian Beuse studied at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler in East Berlin from 1979 to 1983 and at the Schola Cantorum in Basel from 1988 to 1991.
 
He is a currently a member of the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin and has played regularly in Nikolaus Harnoncourt’s Concentus Musicus Wien for the past fifteen years. He has also been a member of the Reichasche Quintet, which specializes in the historical performance of Early Romantic repertoire, since the ensemble’s beginnings in 1992 and has participated a total of eight CDs with the group on the New Classical Adventure label. Concert tours have brought him to almost all of the major musical venues in Europe, as well as to Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Ecuador, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Colombia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Uruguay and the United States. Moreover, he has participated in a total of 100 CD recordings that vary from music of the Renaissance to music of the Romantic Era.  
 
Christian Beuse taught bassoon at the Conservatory in Vienna from 1995 until 2001 and at the Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen from 2000 until 2005. Since 2001 he has been teaching at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main and since 2004 at the Hochschule für Künste in Bremen. In 2006 Christian Beuse started to teach bassoon at the Universitat der Künste in Berlin. He was a coach at the Akademie für Alte Musik in Brixen and has given master classes at the International Summer Academy for Early Music in Innsbruck. As of winter term 2023/24 Christian Beuse has a guest professorship at the University of the Arts for Baroque Bassoon and Chamber music.
