Dr. Irene Kletschke

Irene Kletschke is the managing coordinator of klangzeitort, the joint Institute for New Music of the Berlin University of the Arts and the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin. She also organises the International Summer Academy KlangKunstBühne, a further education programme at the UdK Berlin aimed at artists from all disciplines.
She studied musicology and theatre studies at the Free University of Berlin and cultural and media management at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin and completed her doctorate at the FU Berlin in 2010 with the dissertation ‘Klangbilder. Walt Disney's Fantasia (1940)’. She has been a research assistant at the UdK Berlin since 2006 and gives seminars on music and film, new music, music theatre, landscape composition and project and cultural management, among other things.
In 2020/21 she completed the certificate course ‘Science Management’ at the FU Berlin's Centre for Continuing Education. In 2023/24 she worked on the QuerKlang+ pilot project. At UdK Berlin, she is also project manager of ‘FEM*_MUSIC*_Kollektiv für Feminismus und Musik’, which is funded by the Berlin Programme for the Promotion of Equal Opportunities in Research and Teaching (BCP), the AG Frauenfördergelder der UdK Berlin and the Women's and Equal Opportunities Officer of the UdK Berlin (duration: 1.4.2022 to 31.3.2025).
