Call for Participation: Post-disciplinary colloquium for artistic and scientific research

source: Ben Roth - D O P Studio

The shared post-disciplinary colloquium of the Berlin University of the Arts and the Technical University Berlin will continue in 2025! The Berlin Centre for Advanced Studies in Arts and Sciences (BAS) and the Hybrid Plattform invite early career researchers and artists from both universities to present their research projects under the theme:

Research Ecologies – encounters, disruptions, common ground

In a time of multiple crises that span different geographies, time scales and political cycles, it is increasingly necessary to reach across disciplinary boundaries. It is at these sites of cross-disciplinary encounter that we can begin to address the major challenges of our time: social polarisation, the climate emergency, the biodiversity crisis and ongoing social injustice.

Cross-disciplinary encounters that are not simply concurrent, but equally irritant, are an important part of defining a common ground in research, allowing for more holistic solutions to our current challenges. The 2025 colloquium series focuses on artistic and scientific research questions with a view to current social phenomena and discourses, and offers a stage for projects that work on transformation topics in the context of climate and biodiversity, sustainability, social cohesion, the decolonial, digitalization as well as new technologies.

PhD students, researchers, academic and artistic staff are invited to present their research topics and current projects for discussion. The colloquium offers space for content-related experiments while seeking an open exchange between the disciplines and faculties of TU and UdK.

We are planning the colloquia for the following dates: 29.4., 3.6., and 18.11.2025, 5-7 p.m. A summer workshop will also be held on July 10, 2025 from 10 am to 6 pm, where projects can be presented alongside workshops on transdisciplinary artistic and scientific research.

Apply for one of the dates by 7.3.2025!
