Resulting from the international conference "Artistic Needs and Institutional Desires", which took place in November 2015 at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, a revised version of the working paper is being released.

The first part of the publication contains a summary of the discussions and of the results, which were compiled in the four working groups active during the conference. The second part consists of the complete working paper, which was handed out to all participants before the conference began, including short introductions to the respective programmes as well as the thematic briefs for the working groups.

The publication is a unique summary of "artistic third-cycle education" and documents the diverse discussions and reflections which occurred during the encounter at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin.
