“History is a Warm Gun” exhibition
With the exhibition History is a Warm Gun the Neue Berliner Kunstverein continues to present the works of their fellows who participate in the working scholarship for Fine Arts by the Berliner Senate; among them is our former fellow Eva Könnemann.
The title relates in a playful way to the Beatles song Happiness is a Warm Gun and underlines the encouragement of the participating artists to develop their very own historical narratives in contrast to the established historiography. History is a Warm Gun seizes the trend in art production and supports a selection of artists in a seismographic way. The exhibition outlines a wide range of questions captured by a young generation of artists, which dedicate themselves to reflect upon history and today by drawing on historical and personal occurrences.
