The artistic works and archival research of our former fellow Judith Raum about the German economic colonialism in the Ottoman period are presented in an extensive installation in Turkey. SALT Beyoğlu in Istanbul shows paintings, drawings, objects, historical photos and letters translated into Turkish which were chosen from the Historical Archive of the Deutsche Bank Frankfurt am Main by Judith Raum. Her installation “eser” was previously shown in the Heidelberger Kunstverein in 2014. The presentation in Istanbul is enhanced by spacial sculptural elements and documents taken from archives in Istanbul. In addition to the exhibition a 500-pages publication of Judith Raum’s “eser” will be published by Archive Books.
