Exhibition: “Driften” – Zeichnung und Installation
Exhibition: “Driften” – Zeichnung und Installation
Drawings and installtions by Gertrud Riethmüller and our alumna Juliane Laitzsch are presented in the exhibition “Driften“ at Saarländisches Künstlerhaus.
In seafaring the word “drift” means to yaw because of undercurrents that are often hard to calculate.
The works of the artists connect questions along the research on visibility and superposition. Juliane Laitzsch repeats in her drawings the memory of the observation of nature over and over again, while Gertrud Riethmüller deals with the exhibition space in a performative process. Both artists come from a clear notion or a precise instruction in order to be guided by the momentum of the work process.

Furthermore, our alumna Juliane Laitzsch will contribute her drawing to “Time Practice in the Arts” in the frame of MaerzMusik – Festival für Zeitfragen at Haus der Berliner Festspiele.
Paying particular attention to the temporal dimension of different arts shows us different ways of dealing with time, of unfolding in time and of articulating time – even in the space-based arts.
The workshop “Thinking Together” will trace the temporal practices of different artists in their particular fields, making explicit some of the tacit knowledge that goes into them. Focusing on rhythm and embodied experience, they will try to make the specific time practices accessible to experience, reflection and discussion.
