Filmscreening “Dahlienfeuer”
“DAHLIENFEUER” (D 2016, 67 min), the new film by our alumnus Stefan Hayn, is shown in the frame of the 13. Dokumentarfilmwoche hamburg at the Kino Metropolis in Hamburg on 6th April 2016, 8pm.
A sunny autumn day in Berlin. In South Neukölln gather the visitors of the Dahlienfeuer, an annual gardening exhibition in Britzer Garten. They admire the colourful blossom, a family getaway seeking rest, some nice hours or the next motive for their photo collection. Between them is the filmmaker. He is less interested in the plants, despite their appealing 4:3 framing. His focus is on the people and their affairs. Polite, almost naïve, questions bring Hayn closer to a sense of life, a moment, that on this day and in this place is in the air and due to the air. A sneak peek that provides insight – into the protagonists’ heads, the state of the nation and the photo calendar for next Christmas. It is also reflection on the act of recording, capturing – and, above all, the question which observations become important
