Panel “Art as Archive, Artist as Archivist”
Panel “Art as Archive, Artist as Archivist” in New York
The visual artists Taraneh Hemmami (San Francisco) and our fellow Azin Feizabadi take part in the panel “Art as Archive, Artist as Archivist” in the frame of the series “#Iran: Animating the Archives” in New York.
Both artists have each been making work borne from an archival impulse. Azin Feizabadi presents a performance-lecture based on his work in progress “Chronicles from Majnun until Layla”. He touches upon the discursive possibilities opened up by the work to question the notion of an archive in the context of Iran’s disrupted histories.
