Symposium “Was war Design?“
Our Alumna Judith Raum presents “Stoffbesprechung. Zum Werk der Bauhaus-Weberin Otti Berger“ as part of the symposium “Was war Design?“ by the Institute for History and Theory of Design at Berlin University of the Arts.
The symposium “Was war Design” draws on the old future orientation of Design, when it questions current research. In three sections, we examine the genealogy of Design, follow up the current status of Design theories and focus on the latest politics of Design.
Judith Raum gives a lecture concerning her artistic research about the textile designer Otti Berger (1898-1944), from archives over weaving analysis of certain fabrics up to findings of long-lost works and the new weaving of one of her curtaining from the Bauhaus times.
