Video Performance „VOICES“
Our fellow Clarissa Thieme presents the video performance “VOICES (work in progress)“ with Anne Ratte-Polle as part of the Female Artists' Program at Kino Arsenal in Berlin.
VOICES deals with a hotel and the several "voices" inhabiting it. Emerging out of documentary scenes actors give voice to people that fled in the 1990s to the hotel escaping war in the hinterland of Yugoslavia. All characters are trapped between past and present. All of them struggling to either forget or their voices to be heard. An outsider triggers the clash between present and past and is triggered herself by it in an unexpected way. The dialogues are conducted from interviews with refugees from back then.
