Variations on Spinoza – Attempt at a visual scientia intuitiva
"Spinoza Variationen – Versuch einer bildlichen scientia intuitiva""/“Variations on Spinoza – Attempt at a visual scientia intuitiva” explores the possibility of intuitive knowledge as a non-discursive visual knowledge. What kind of knowledge do images convey? How can you make an argument with images? Taking the philosophy of Baruch de Spinoza as a starting point, Stoichita searches for answers working in the medium of sequential art and graphic essay.
Pedro Stoichita was born in 1983 in Munich. He studied philosophy, French and cultural studies at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. He received a scholarship from Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes and worked for the research group „Transformationen of Mind”.
He also worked as a freelance graphic designer and storyboard artist.
