Crying is all too easy. Female humour in crisis
Traditionally, women have only been given marginal space within the realm of the comical. With her project ”Crying is all too easy. Female humour in crisis” Vanessa Stern explores gender-specific approaches to humour and asks how women can intervene in the current financial and economic crisis through theatrical and comical means.
Vanessa Stern was born in Austria. She studied acting at the Berlin University of the Arts and worked for Schauspiel Köln and Salzburger Festspiele. In 2005 she was awarded the prize for best newcomer actress in North Rhine-Westfalia. In 2008 she received a scholarship for the International Forum of the Berlin Theatertreffen.
