Research Students

Sarah Hampel

Sarah Hampel is doing her master´s degree in arthistory with a focus on museum at the Technical University of Berlin. In autumn semester 2017/18 she completed a semester abroad at the University of Copenhagen. She has been a research student at the Research Training Group „Knowledge in the Arts“ from April 2018 to November 2021. She also supported the Scientific Council until January 2018.

 

Marieke Grenzebach

Before her studies Marieke Grenzebach completed a voluntary cultural year at the Goethe-Institut Berlin. Afterwards she started her Bachelor in Kultur und Technik at the TU Berlin with an Erasmus Semester at the University of Ljubljana. Since 2019 she is studying for a Master's degree in European Studies at the Europa-Universität Viedrina in Frankfurt Oder. Marieke Grenzebach has been working for the Research Training Group "The Knowledge of the Arts" from March 2020 to August 2021.

Xin Wang

Since 2015 Xin Wang has been studying Theatre Studies, North American
Studies and French at the Free University of Berlin. 2018 she was at the
University of Amsterdam for a semester abroad. She works freelance in the
field of theatre production and has been active at the Research Training Group
from April 2019 to March 2020.

 

Svenja Rokitta

Svenja Rokitta studied applied cultural studies at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg, as well as history and culture of science and technology at the Technische Universität Berlin. Her main areas of interest were virtual aesthetics in music and sound and the possibilities of the provisional in culture and technology. Already in 2014, Svenja Rokitta began participating in the Research Training Group “Knowledge in the Arts” at the Berlin University of Arts as a research student, and from January to October 2015, she additionally worked with the group as a research associate and academic coordinator.

Leoni Grützmacher

In 2011, Leoni Grützmacher completed her bachelor’s degree in arts and culture at the University of Maastricht. After working at the Goethe-Institute in Madrid and in an internship with the Berlin artist Nasan Tur, she began studying for a master’s degree in art history and art technology at the Technische Universität Berlin. She has been a research student in the Research Training Group “Knowledge in the Arts” since March 2016.

Benjamin Schneider

From 2006–2009, Benjamin Schneider studied mathematics at the Freie Universität Berlin. He then transferred to the Berlin University of the Arts to complete an additional bachelor’s degree and teacher training in music. He is currently completing a master's degree in this program with a major in violin and a focus on music theory. From October 2012 to September 2015, he participated in the Research Training Group “Knowledge in the Arts” as a research student.

Judith Wilking

From 2011–2014, Judith Wilking studied for a bacehlor's degree in art history and empirical cultural studies at the University of Tübingen. In October 2014, she began studying for a master’s degree in art history with a focus on Europe and America at the Freie Universität Berlin. From January 2015 to January 2016, she participated in the Research Training Group “Knowledge in the Arts” as a research student.

Johanna Heyne

After being trained as a technical assistant for design in the area of graphic design in Dresden, Johanna Heyne studied for a bachelor’s degree in art history and theater studies at the Freie Universität Berlin from 2010–2014. In October 2014, she began studying for a master’s degree in art history and visual history at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Università degli Studie di Firenze. She has been a research student in the Research Training Group “Knowledge in the Arts” since October 2015.

 

Alicja Schindler

After completing her bachelor in media culture and art history in Freiburg in 2016, Alicja Schindler is currently undertaking a master's program in art and visual history at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. In addition to her academic work, she writes as a journalist. She has been active in the Research Training Group since October 2017.

 

Friederike Bibel

In 2013, Friederike Biebel completed her bachelor’s degree in arts and culture at Maastricht University. After graduating, she worked for art  – Das Kunstmagazin and the Circle Culture Gallery in Berlin. In 2014, she began studying for a master's degree in art history and art technology at the Technische Universität Berlin. She has participated in the Research Training Group “Knowledge in the Arts” since October 2016.
