Volume Two of the book series published by the DFG Research Training Group “Knowledge in the Arts” with Wilhelm Fink Verlag. The series is edited by Barbara Gronau and Kathrin Peters, and the books are designed by Jenny Baese.

Contributions on Opus

Following the conference “ . . . that’s a lot of work. Art—Knowledge—Work,” which was organized by the DFG Research Training Group “Knowledge in the Arts,” the book investigates the interconnection of artistic disciplines and areas of work far removed from the arts, as well as the ways in which the arts are dependent on certain technologies of production, design, and production. The positions collected together in the book aim to initiate reflections on the relationship between the arts, knowledge, and work. In addition to essays by scholars and artists, the volume includes a CD with a revival of the Program Nr. 42 by Nueva Música from October 30, 1944 in Buenos Aires, performed by the Ensemble Iberoamericano at the Berlin University of the Arts in 2014, as well as a series of artistic-forensic drawings that make it possible to reconstruct aspects of a conference that usually go unnoticed.
