The German-American Fulbright program supports the promotion of mutual understanding between the two countries at the level of academic and cultural exchange.

Master's students and Bachelor's graduates from universities and art colleges with a German citizenship who would like to study for one to two semesters (max. 9 months) as a graduate student at a US university can apply for a Fulbright Scholarship.  The call for applications for the 2026/27 academic year will open in spring 2025.The scholarship supports the study stay in the USA with up to $ 40,000. Language skills for applying to a US university

For Fulbright applications to US universities, a TOEFL test is generally required. You should inquire about the respective minimum score in good time with the host university.
