The German-American Fulbright program supports the promotion of mutual understanding between the two countries at the level of academic and cultural exchange.
Master's students and Bachelor's graduates from universities and art colleges with a German citizenship who would like to study for one to two semesters (max. 9 months) as a graduate student at a US university in the academic year 2025-26 can apply for a Fulbright Scholarship until 25 August 2024 (23:59:59). The scholarship supports the study stay in the USA with up to $ 40,000. You can find out more about the application requirements and the application procedure here (in German only).
If you have any queries about the scholarship programme, you can contact studienstipendien. On 9 July 2024 at 3 p.m., Fulbright Germany will be offering a virtual info session where you can ask any questions you may have about the study scholarship and get practical tips on applying to a US university. In addition, there will be a digital info session on 10 July 2024 at 4:30 p.m. to present the network universities. Please register here.
For Fulbright applications to US universities, a TOEFL test is generally required. You should inquire about the respective minimum score in good time with the host university.
