We encounter rivers everywhere in Berlin. No wonder, after all, Berlin was built along the Spree. In our daily lives, however, we rarely consciously perceive our flowing companions. Besides, we ask ourselves hardly ever how they are actually doing in the environmental crisis. In this seminar, we invite you to learn from and with the rivers of Berlin and to let yourself drift with all your senses.
We will combine practical river knowledge such as renaturation methods and artistic-design practices.
Guests: NABU Institute for River and Wetland Ecology, Hannah Strothmann (Collaborative Research Center for Intervening Arts), Jakob Kukula (Symbiotic Lab, SpreeBerlin), Berliner Wasserbetriebe and others
Accessibility information:
- We would like to take a boat tour during the block seminar in May. Accordingly, it is important that people can swim. If this is a problem for you, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
- The language will be determined in consultation with the participants. Whispered translation into English/German will be offered.
- The event room is partially wheelchair accessible.
- Please also let us know about your accessibility and language needs, even if they may not correspond to the specifications here in the event. Please send an email with the subject ‘Access Seminar’ to studiumplanetare @klasseklima.org
