50 years of UdK Berlin - Anniversary 2025
In 2025, the Berlin University of the Arts will be celebrating its 50th anniversary. The UdK Berlin celebrates this anniversary with various events, formats and projects.
In 1975, the University of the Arts was created through the merger of Hochschule für Bildende Künste (University of Fine Arts) and Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst (University of Music and Performing Arts) in West Berlin. The university was renamed in 2001, but the UdK Berlin has a history of more than 300 years thanks to its previous institutions.

The History of Berlin University of the Arts
Taking into account its predecessor institutions, the UdK Berlin can look back on a history of more than 300 years, dating from the foundation of the Brandenburg-Prussian Academy of the Arts in 1696.
