Foundations

There are numerous foundations that support musicians. Either you have to apply directly to the foundation or you have to go through an application procedure at the UdK Berlin (for a scholarship or a one-time financial support). As a rule, the following two application deadlines apply: The first application deadline is June 15, and the second application deadline is November 15 of each year.

In order to receive support from UdK Berlin foundation funds, clear requirements must be met. These include, for example, very good academic performance, a minimum period of study, but also the ban on double funding and financial need. The Federal Training Assistance Act, "BAföG": Who can receive funding? In principle, anyone who is a German citizen can receive BAföG. However, citizens of the European Union, migrants and refugees living in Germany can also receive BAföG as financial support during their studies or schooling. Further information can be found here.
