Vita

 JungAhn Shin, born on August 23, 1999, in Busan, South Korea, discovered her passion for the viola at a very young age. Her musical journey began at the Korea National Institute for the Gifted in Arts, where she honed her talent and ignited her love for music. At the age of 15, in 2014, JungAhn took a journey, relocating to Berlin, Germany.

JungAhn has pursued her musical education under the mentorship of Tabea Zimmermann at the HFM Hanns Eisler Berlin, starting as a pre-college student. JungAhn then continued her Bachelor's degree with Tabea Zimmermann and is now pursuing further studies at UDK Berlin with Prof. Hartmut Rohde, expanding her musical horizons. JungAhn's performances have captivated audiences at prestigious festivals such as Kronberg Academy's Chamber Music Connects The World, IMS Prussia Cove, Schiermonnikoo Festival and Grachten Festival, collaborating with esteemed musicians such as Steven lsserlis, Nobuko Imai, Christian Tetzlaff and Renaud Capuçon, among others.

Now a regular substitute at the Berliner Philharmoniker since 2022, JungAhn Shin draws inspiration from artists such as Tabea Zimmermann, Nobuko Imai, Lars Anders Tomter and Yura Lee.

JungAhn Shin's dedication to the viola and her commitment resonate deeply with audiences worldwide. Her journey is a testament to the transformative power of music, uniting people across cultures and continents.
