Karolina Pawul

Vita

Violist Karolina Pawul, born in Warsaw in 1998, received her first violin lessons at the age of 7. After several competition successes, she began playing the viola at the age of 16. She immediately won first prizes at the lll. Meeting of Young Violists in Skierniewice, at the 19th International Bowed String Instruments Competition in the Name of Bohdan Warchal and at the National Viola Competition in the Name of Dominik Rutkowski.

Karolina performed as a soloist with the China Philharmonic Orchestra in the Forbidden City in Beijing in 2016. She has also performed as a soloist at the Polish Radio Studio, in the Warsaw Philharmonic, with the Sinfonietta Cracovia, at the Krzysztof Penderecki European Center for Music and as part of the rbb program “Die Absolventen” in Berlin.

Karolina has been studying with Prof. Hartmut Rohde at the Berlin University of the Arts since the 2017/18 winter semester. She has been principal violist of the UdK orchestra since 2019. From 2018 to 2020 Karolina was principal violist of the European Union Youth Orchestra. From 2018 to 2020 Karolina was a scholarship holder of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Since 2018 she has been a scholarship holder of the Paul Hindemith Society Berlin.
