Kaori Furusawa

Vita

Kaori Furusawa was born in Malaysia in 1998. She began her violin studies at the age of 4, learning the violin in China, Malaysia and Japan.

In July of 2023 Kaori Furusawa was awarded the 2nd price on the Ysaye International Music Competition in Liège Belgium. In 2021 she received the biennially awarded Ana Chumachenco Prize for outstanding talents at the Kronberg Academy of music Violin Masterclass. In 2019, she won the Audience Prize at the 7th Sendai International Music Competition and 3rd Prize at Ibolyka Gyarfas Violin Competition.

Already as a teenager she won 2nd Prizes both at the 67th Student Music Concours of Japan and the 23th Japan Classical Music Association. She also performed as a soloist with the Izumigo Festival Orchestra conducted by Maestro Ken Takaseki at Kioi Hall in Tokyo.
Since 2016 she has been performing in her own recitals in Tokyo as well as elsewhere in Japan and in Europe. In 2020 she gave a recital at the Japanese Embassy in Berlin. After graduating from Toho High School of Music as a student of Prof. Takayoshi Wanami in 2017 she studied with Prof. Mark Gothoni at University of the Arts Berlin. After graduating from University of the Arts Berlin with top grade in 2022 she continues her studies with Ms. Byol Kang at HfM Hanns Eisler Berlin. Since 2023 she is an academist of Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin. She is a scholar of Yamaha Music Foundation 2024.

She attended master classes with Regis Pasquier, Leonidas Kavakos, Edward Zienkowski, Werner Hink, Roland Daugareil, Gerard Poulet, Kolja Blacher, Gerhard Schulz, Salvatore Accardo. She learned also baroque violin with Prof. Ryo Terakado and Kaori Toda, learned Chamber Music with Nobuko Yamazaki Kazuhide Isomura, Prof. Eckart Runge, Vineta Sareika, Anthea Kreston and Gregor Sigl.
