Biography Przemek Pujanek
Przemysław Pujanek began playing the violin at the age of six. He completed his musical education with distinction in 2010 at the Henryk Wieniawski Secondary School of Music in Poznań, Poland. From 2007 to 2010, he was also a junior student at the Julius-Stern-Institute in Berlin, achieving numerous successes in national violin and chamber music competitions during this time.
In 2010, Pujanek switched from the violin to the viola and continued his studies at the Berlin University of the Arts with Prof. Hartmut Rohde. Throughout his education, he participated successfully in various competitions and festivals and received scholarships from the Paul Hindemith Society in Berlin e.V. and the Ad Infinitum Foundation. He graduated with honors in July 2014 with a diploma in viola performance.
From 2015 to 2017, after winning an audition, Pujanek worked as principal violist in the London Philharmonic Orchestra. He then held the same position from 2017 to 2018 with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, and from 2019 to 2021, he served as principal violist at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Since 2022, he has been a violist with the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig.
In addition to his career as a violist, Przemysław Pujanek has been composing music since the age of 20. His compositions have been performed on numerous stages. For example, his first duo for two violas was presented in September 2024 at the International Viola Congress in Campinas, Brazil. His “Allegro” for string octet premiered in October 2023 at the National Forum of Music in Wrocław, Poland. Moreover, his duet for cello and double bass had its premiere on October 6, 2024, at the Mendelssohn House in Leipzig.
Pujanek is also a recipient of the MUSIKA BULEGOA scholarship, a composer association based in San Sebastián, Spain.
Biography Paul Rodriguez Flys
Paul Rodríguez Flys, born in Madrid, Spain in 1999, began playing the violin at the age of six. Two years later, he commenced his studies at the Adolfo Salazar Pre-College Conservatory, where he also developed a strong interest in composition. During this time, he earned several awards for both composition and interpretation, notably for a piece he wrote for his violin quartet.
He holds a degree in violin performance from the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. In 2020, he began pursuing a second degree in artistic music theory under the guidance of Prof. Johannes Schild, which he is now nearing completion. Additionally, he is currently enrolled in the violin master's program at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf, studying with Aylen Pritchin.
Focusing on chamber music, his compositional work has earned him commissions from ensembles such as Duo Micans, who premiered his violin duo in 2023.
