Sophie Longmuir
Born in Sydney, Australia, Sophie Longmuir finished her undergraduate studies on modern violin in 2013 at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. During her time at the conservatorium she was introduced to baroque violin through the Early Music Ensemble, lead by historical keyboard specialist Neal Peres da Costa. In 2016 Sophie decided to pursue the baroque violin beginning a Masters of Music at the Universität der Künste in Berlin with Irmgard Huntgeburth. Since arriving in Germany she has played with a variety of baroque ensembles including: the baroque ensemble of the Berlin Cathedral “Aris & Aulis”, Göttinger Barock Orchester, Barockensemble Wunderkammer and Q Ensemble Berlin.
