Claudius Kamp

Claudius is starting to teach baroque bassoon at the Institute for Early Music Performance Practice of the UdK Berlin as of sumer term 2025.

Claudius Kamp was born in Aalen. From 2008 to 2013, he completed
a diploma program with a major in recorder at the FRANZ LISZT University of Music in Weimar under Prof. Myriam Eichberger, graduating with the distinction “excellent.” This was followed by a bachelor’s degree in baroque bassoon at the University of the Arts Bremen (2013 to 2017) and a master’s degree in Performance Instrumental Soloist in Early Music at the Berlin University of the
Arts (2017 to 2019), both under Christian Beuse.
In addition to his formal education, he deepened his musical expertise in masterclasses with
renowned musicians such as Maurice Steger, Paul Leenhouts, Daniel Koschitzki, Günther Höller,
Reinhard Goebel, Mauro Valli, and Jermaine Sprosse.
Claudius Kamp regularly collaborates with internationally renowned artists, including Maurice Steger, Ton Koopman, Alfredo Bernardini, Andres Gabetta, Reinhard Goebel, Samy Deluxe, Nuria Rial, and Dorothee Mields.
As a soloist, he frequently performs with various international ensembles and orchestras.
For his outstanding musical achievements, Claudius Kamp has received several awards.
In addition to his artistic career, he works as a recorder instructor in Basel and as a lecturer in baroque bassoon at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK). He also teaches both instruments at the Gstaad Baroque Academy under the direction of Maurice Steger.
Furthermore, he has served as a jury member in various competitions, including the final of the Swiss Youth Music Competition (SJMW), the German Music Competition in Bonn, and the national competition “Jugend musiziert.”
