KLANGZEITORT - Institute for new music
A joint institute of the UdK Berlin and the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin.
»whirled-in-sounds« is a new series of workshops presented by klangzeitort, centering on diverse musical practices from around the world. Opening a window into various traditions, experiencing their soundings, learning about their concepts, instruments, techniques and disciplines.
The first project was a workshop and concert with Marianne Svašek (Rotterdam). The workshop offered an opportunity to learn about North Indian Hindustani Dhrupad music, taught in a time-honored oral manner by one of the very few women practicing this form. The concert presented Marianne Svasek, voice with Nathaniel van Zuilen, pakhawaj performing three ragas in the Kammersaal Isoldestrasse.
