European Liedforum
Prof. Axel Bauni founded the "Liedforum Berlin” in 2004 after he was appointed professor for contemporary Lied interpretation at the University of the Arts in Berlin.
Prof. Bauni’s concept was to bring together students and instructors in the field of Lieder from various music schools and academies, something never before accomplished on a national or international level.
After four successful "Liedforums”, held every two years with varying participants, it was decided to expand the "Liedforum” beyond Germany and organize it on a European scale.
The assistance of the EU’s ERASMUS program made it possible to host the first "European Liedforum" at the UdK Berlin in 2012, and a second one in 2013 at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
