The New Year's Reception 2025 for UdK Berlin university members and invited guests took place on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 5 pm in the foyer of the Concert Hall on the corner of Hardenbergstraße and Fasanenstraße.

The graphic for the New Year's Reception 2025 was designed by Yitong Ha. She is a student of Prof. Fons Hickmann's graphic design / communication design class at the Berlin University of the Arts.

With her design, she combines traditional Chinese symbolism with modern design to create an aesthetic interpretation of the new annual cycle and introduces the Year of the Snake. Formed from various stone the design shows an interpretation of the Chinese character for “snake”. 2025, the Chinese Year of the Snake, is characterized by wisdom, elegance and intuition. For Yitong Ha, the stones symbolize stability and a solid foundation, while the way they are arranged reflects personal development and change. The red background color is a traditional Chinese color that can be traced back to the color of a rooster's comb. This bright, dynamic color forms a strong contrast to the black and was chosen by the graphic designer as a symbol of New Year's luck, renewal and constant ascent.
