Embracing hoe and shovel. Hand-formed, manual devices for the controlled penetration of surfaces. A feat of strength. Although working humans can also work the earth with their bare hands, nature's resistance is more easily overcome with tool ends. Nature is intimately connected with the material and the work that goes with it. It is subject to a process of change, which I am documenting photographically in order to archive the fragility of the personal.
