Exhibition of the nominees for the UdK Berlin: The President’s Fine Arts Award
From May 4-6, 2022, the works of the nominees for the 2022 UdK Berlin: The President’s Fine Arts Award will be on display in the Quergalerie of Hardenbergstrasse 33.

The role of foreign toponyms in historical and contemporary branding practices and reputational consumption is evidence of emotional and commercial ties between nations. In this case, the accumulation of products sold by German companies to native populations, named after places in the U.S., reflects an aspect of the former's cross-cultural nostalgia for the latter. Through furnishings such as floor coverings, paint, and wallpaper, a material, fragmentary reference to the domestic sphere and the subjectivity of home is established.
