Policy on protection against (sexualised) discrimination, harassment and violence
The policy on protection against (sexualised) discrimination, harassment and violence at Berlin University of the Arts became effective on 29 June 2019. It provides guidance on how to counter discrimination and violence and take action against offences.
Anyone with training, qualification and management responsibilities is obliged to investigate reports of discriminatory behaviour, sexualised transgressions and violence and to take appropriate measures to investigate, prosecute and prevent them.
Those affected are encouraged to contact the following office(s) for counselling and support: the members of the contact point for discrimination and violence, the full-time and part-time women’s and equal opportunities officers, the diversity officer, the in-house physician, the works commitee, the person of trust for people with severe disabilities, the General Students’ Committee (AStA), the head of the Human Resources Department, the deans of studies, the chancellor in his or her function as a complaints office in accordance with Section 13 AGG. There is the possibility of a simple as well as a formal complaint (more details in the guideline itself).
