UdK Berlin joins the HRK Resolution
In May 2024, the German Rectors' Conference (HRK) adopts five goals for more gender equitable appointments at its 38th General Assembly.
UdK Berlin is committed to gender equality in studies, teaching, further qualification, research, art, and administration. We take an intersectional approach: We aim to identify and prevent existing disadvantages and discrimination and to create equal opportunities and development opportunities for all university members regardless of gender. It is important to open up access and break down barriers.
Artistic universities face unique challenges in implementing gender equality policies due to the distinct nature of qualifications and career paths for students, academic staff, artistic staff, and professors. These differences require tailored approaches to ensure gender equality is effectively addressed. Alongside individual support and assistance, a structural analysis and strategic measures are necessary. UdK Berlin is committed to this challenge and opportunity. It is aware of its responsibility and role model function, which it also has in the field of gender equality due to its artistic diversity and stature, and aims to fulfil this.
