Mentoring on the path to a professorship in arts and science
The mentoring program is a lighthouse project of the UdK Berlin in the area of equal opportunities and aims to support highly skilled female artists and academics on their path to a professorship. The participants are supported for a period of one year through various programs and measures to strengthen their competencies and expand their career prospects.
The mentoring program is explicitly directed at FLINTA* – FLINTA* stands for women, lesbians, inter, non-binary, trans and agender people as well as for those who do not classify themselves as belonging to one of the above-mentioned sexual orientations or gender identities and are also included. The abbreviation FLINTA* therefore refers to people who are discriminated against in the patriarchy.
The core of the program is the mentoring relationship, which consists of one program participant as a mentee and one professor from the Berlin University of the Arts or one professor from the cooperating art academies. The cooperating art academies include the Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin, the School of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin, the Ernst Busch University of Theatre Arts Berlin and the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF.
This is flanked by a further qualification program for the mentees. The individual modules of the further qualification program include training and discussions on key topics, networking events as well as feedback and exchange in the peer group.
A competitive selection process must be completed for admission to the program.
A one-off fee of €150 is charged for the program.
