Violist Gueli(kyuri) Kim was born Seoul, South Korea in 1992. Kyu ri Kim started to play viola at the age of eleven and entered the Yewon music school. When she was 16, she had her orchestra debut in Seoul Arts Center concert hall. She won the first prize at the Segyeilbo and Kookminilbo Competition in South Korea. In the same year she was young artist in Kumho Foundation, so she had performed with Recital in Kumho art hall and held several Chamber concert also. In 2016 after she started to study in Berlin Hanns eisler she played concert at Berlin philharmonie kammermusiksaal and Konzerthaus Berlin.
Kyuri Kim has been awarded in many competitions, such as first prize in the Johannes Brahms competition in 2016 and Anton Rubinstein competiton, Szymon Goldberg competition in Germany.
In korea big broadcasting company Dongailbo Music Competition and awarded also in Baroque string ensemble competition. Afterward she performed Bartok viola concerto with Bucheon Philharnoic and JVC Orchestra.
In 2012, she was participated in International viola congress in America and she performed walton concerto. She had a lot of opportunities to participate in masterclasses with Nobuko imai, Wolfrom Christ, Rainer Moog, and so on, In 2014, she took part as a semifinalist in the International Primrose Viola Competition.
She was taught by Ensik Choi, Professor of the Seoul National University. And now she study with Tabea zimmerman’s class at Hanns Eisler Musik hochschule since 2015.
Now she started to study for her Meisterklasse at Dresden Musik Hochschule with Pauline Sachse.
