Tomohiro Arita (*1992) is originally from Osaka, Japan. In his early years he learnt the violin, later discovering the viola aged 15 and going on to complete his studies at one of Japan’s most respected colleges, Tokyo’s University of the Arts. In 2014 he made it to the final round of the ›Cecil Aronowitz International Viola Competition‹ in Birmingham and won second place at the ›Salzburg=Mozart International Chamber Music Competition‹ in Tokyo.
Tomohiro Arita has performed at various festivals such as the Swiss Verbier Festival, the Lucerne Festival and Le Pont Music Festival in Japan. In addition, he has performed as soloist with the Geidai Philharmonia and the Birmingham Conservatoire String Orchestra. Parallel to being an Academy Student with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, he is also a student at the Hanns Eisler College of Music in Berlin
