Ulrike Sowodniok is a singer and voice anthropologist.

Studies of medicine, philosophy, Lichtenberger® applied physiology of the voice, Slavic Belcanto, contemporary interpretation and sound studies. Various art works for voice and sonic environment, research in the field of voice and movement, teaching in her own studio and at the University of the Arts Berlin where she is holding her own format at the Career College “Angewandte Stimmanthropologie (Applied Anthropology of the Voice)” since 2011 and at HZT (Hochschulübergreifendes Zentrum Tanz). Founder of A-capella-Vocalquintett Ensemble Medulla for post-somatic and feminist performance. Various publications in the field of anthropology of the voice and the senses, monograph „Stimmklang und Freiheit – zur auditiven Wissenschaft des Körpers“ by transcript in April 2013.
