Felipe Manzano
Born in 2003, Felipe Manzano began playing the viola at the age of five at the Conservatoire Profesional de La Rioja.
He is currently studying for his bachelor's degree at the Berlin University of the Arts with Professor Hartmut Rohde.
In the 2024/25 season, he won the audition to become an academist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam.
He has also worked with other professors and soloists such as Nobuko Imai, Yuval Gotlibovich and Miguel da Silva. He studied chamber music with Eberhard Feltz and the Artemis Quartet and has performed with musicians such as Heinz Holliger, Claudio Martínez Mehner and Santiago Cañón Valencia.
In 2018 he won the first prize at the "Artur Fernandes Fao" International String Competition in Portugal.
In 2019 he won the audition to become solo viola of the Royal Concertgebouworkest Young.
He has participated in prestigious festivals such as the Verbier Festival (2020/21), the Festival Encuentro y Academia de Santander (2022/23), the Mendelssohn Festival in Hamburg (2022) and the Kronberg Academy's "Mit-Musik-Miteinander" (2022).
He has also been a member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester (2024), the Spira Mirabilis Ensemble (2023), the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and the Ensemble Modern (2022).
